THE POWER-CRACY
‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ -Sir John Dalberg-Acton
From womb to tomb, its politics by hook or by crook which aids us to survive in this competitive world. Unconsciously, we all are revolving in the cycle of politics. And the biggest political impact we are facing is the pandemic created by China. China’s biggest political move to indulge the other nations in the deadly crisis and taking control. Just as divide and rule. Politics is just a mere excuse for the critical state of our country. It isn’t politics or the politicians who are the cause, it is limpidly the casualty of the masses. The term ‘Politics’ suggest the dirty game and we the responsible, respected citizens choose these politicians as our leaders being aware of their activities. Do we choose the politicians for the development of our country or just to play a power game? We the respected are quite well aware of our duties towards the nation. If our respected leaders or most popularly known as politicians make minute, petty mistakes ain't it the duty of us to correct them? At last, we all are humans and we all make gaffes. If they make abysmal, erroneous decisions, can’t we all get united and raise our voices? Isn’t there social media where people are more often found trolling people? Hopefully, the number of politicians is less than the common people, so isn’t it elementary that we common people can compel them to follow the right path? Indian hoi polloi should have been more influential though neglecting the illiteracy rate in India, which also is the conspiracy of the government. If the crowd becomes more intelligent than the government, then how will they brainwash and use them for their benefit? And what will happen to their humongous vote bank? We educate ourselves not only for getting into a job but also for shaping ourselves as better human beings, to be erudite. In the aspect of jobs, we have to be knowledgeable to get into a particular job and for that, we all work hard throughout our school, colleges, universities. But the leaders who tend to be the head of the nation are school-drop outs or uneducated, or partially educated people. And few of them even being educated, have orthodox thinking or mentality or lack practical application of bookish knowledge to life. That’s the biggest irony. The educated government officials keep their nose to the grindstone to achieve the position of being an IPS or IS officer but regrettably, they have to work under these uneducated politicians. But are the politicians to be blamed? Absolutely not. The educated Indian hoi polloi is culpable. The literacy rate in India approximately being 77.7% according to NSO (National Statistical office) and the rest of them being illiterate. The educated mass knows the rules and regulations of the country and should counter the contrary but unfortunately, these people don’t want the development of the country but their individual self. To change the people around you, firstly you need to change yourself. People are just happy with the fact that they are getting paid and wear a blindfold because no one wants stumbling blocks in their happy lives, no one thinks for a second, had the freedom fighters been selfish serving to the Britishers and getting their pay, India would still have been a slave country. Honestly, politics is essential for the development and the growth of competition among groups, teams, organizations, etc. But politics should be secondary and the evolution of the nation being the primary. The government, if, would have taken it seriously in rough hands to look into the difficulties, India would have been a ‘developed country’. There is still time for the mass to open their eyes and work as individuals to thwart India from forever being a ‘developing county’.
